About the Scholarship
The Changemaker Scholarship aims to recognize and support Allegany County public high school seniors who are making a difference for our community.
Established in 2022 by the Women’s Action Coalition (WAC), the Changemaker Scholarship awards $1000 to one outstanding applicant who demonstrates actions for change aligned with WAC’s mission: to create a society in which all people are free and able to live their lives in safe and healthy environments.

All applications will be reviewed by the WAC Scholarship Committee using a scored rubric. Once the recipient has been selected, they will be contacted by the Scholarship Committee and informed of the scholarship award. The winning applicant will be announced May 1, 2026.
